Although Lake Sevan is famous for being the largest body of water within The Republic of Armenia it would be unwise to overlook the town of Sevan connected to the famous lake. Unfortunately there is economic disparity and prevelent throughout the provinece of Gegharkunik, which inclides Sevan.

Our mission with this project was to impact the lives of students through donating computers to a K-12 school withinin Sevan. We considered ten schools from various regions across Armenia, and looked at the schools’ existing funding, technology, and interviewed their principals and teachers. These actions helped us determine the impact that bringing four laptops to the school would have on the students’ futures and technical literacy.

School No. 6 in Sevan, Gegharkunik was chosen to be the best fit for the project for various reasons. For example, they already had exisiting knowlegde in how to use a computer due to the fact they already had an exisiting inventory of four (4) computers. Additionally, one of our partner organizations "Armenia School Foundation" had worked with this school in the past and therefore had referred us due to their sucessful experience with them.

We anticipate purchasing and sending Windows laptops to Sevan to better the learning opportunities for the students. Due to the smaller nature of the quantity, this is an optimal village to start from.

We decided to source our laptops from a tech supplier in Armenia. Purchasing locally will not only help us circumvemnt any customs taxes and shippiunsg costs cut would also support the local Armenian economy. We got in contact with out supplier Ideatech.am through Greg Kirkorian, who had worked with Ideatec.am in the past with his projects in Armenia through his NGO Hye Hopes. Through his successful past ventures we felt safe in working with a teried and proven supplier. The Ideatec.am representative who was helping us, Artur, went above and beyond helping us. He even managed to sell us the laptops at cost, rather than a markup. We purchased the four (4) laptops with the final price of 120,000 AMD rather than the 142,000 AMD they typically sell for.
